OneRichmond is recruiting a new Chair of Trustees
OneRichmond is looking for a new Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and help drive a more connected and compassionate borough.

Our current Chair of Trustees, Stephen Speak, is coming to the end of his term, and we are now recruiting for an inspiring new leader to take on the role.
While Richmond is often seen as affluent, significant hidden need exists beneath the surface, including social isolation, housing insecurity, mental health challenges and youth vulnerability. At the same time, very limited external funding flows into the borough.
OneRichmond exists to change this.
We connect residents, businesses and philanthropists with the grassroots organisations best placed to address these challenges, unlocking local generosity and strengthening the voluntary and community sector across Barnes, Hampton, Richmond, Twickenham, Kew and Whitton.
Our new Chair will provide dynamic and inclusive leadership to the Board, working closely with the Director to guide strategy, ensure strong governance and help grow a powerful movement of local giving.
This role will involve:
- Leading the Board in shaping and reviewing long-term strategy
- Ensuring strong governance, financial stewardship and accountability
- Building a high-performing, collaborative Trustee board
- Acting as an ambassador for OneRichmond across the borough
- Strengthening relationships with donors, businesses and community leaders
- Championing place-based giving and mobilising new support for local causes
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about tackling social isolation and hidden disadvantage
- Has strong leadership and governance experience
- Can bring strategic thinking and collaborative leadership
- Enjoys building relationships across communities, charities and businesses
- Wants to help grow a charity with big ambitions for local impact
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of local philanthropy and help ensure everyone in Richmond has the opportunity to thrive.
This is a voluntary role, with Board meetings taking place within the Richmond Borough. To find out more, head to our Work With Us page, or drop us an email at [email protected]
