Mary Miah

Mary Miah has a strong personal connection to Richmond and Twickenham, having raised her two boys in the area. Both attended Twickenham Primary Academy, where she was involved with the PTA and helped raise funds for the school, before moving on to The Richmond upon Thames School, where they are now pupils and she is also on the PTA. Through her personal and professional life, she has developed strong connections with local schools and a real understanding of the importance of creating opportunities for young people within the community.

Professionally, she is Head of Operations at MKK Solicitors, where she has established an initiative to open their doors to local students and provide meaningful work experience and an insight into the world of work. They began with students from Turing House and Twickenham Primary School, with plans to extend the opportunity to more young people — whether to inspire a career in law, build confidence or simply broaden their horizons.

She is passionate about giving back to the community that has been such an important part of her family’s life and believes strongly in the power of local connections to create opportunity. She is delighted to be joining the One Richmond Development Board and looks forward to bringing her professional experience, school and community connections, and enthusiasm to help support One Richmond’s work and create greater opportunities for people across Richmond.
